Update | March 31, 2020 

Today, just over two weeks into our company response to the global pandemic, Dairy Connection continues to function smoothly with minimal staff physically on site. Shipments continue to come and go on schedule thanks to our fulfillment team and customer service and operations managers, while the rest of the staff is able to stay well-connected from home.

We watch our clients from this distance with admiration, connected to each other by ingredient shipments, technology, and a mutual appreciation of (and concern for) the vitality of our industry. Many of our customers are managing unprecedented, confounding challenges, and we want you to know that we will do everything in our power to best serve you through this difficult time – and always. We thank you for your business, for your trust, and for your tenacity.

Update | March 24, 2020 

On Monday March 23, 2020, Wisconsin Gov. Evers announced nonessential businesses to close statewide in response to COVID-19 pandemic. For the purposes of this Order, Essential Businesses and Operations means Healthcare Operations, Human Services Operations, Essential Infrastructure, and Essential Governmental Functions, and the following:

As reported in a memorandum from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) on March 19, 2020, CISA developed an initial list of “Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers” to help State and local officials as they work to protect their communities, while ensuring continuity of functions critical to public health and safety, as well as economic and national security.

Dairy Connection is considered an essential business as our function is to provide food ingredients and support services to dairy food product manufacturers.

Prior to Wisconsin Gov. Evers' order, Dairy Connection Inc implemented a minimizing of our on-site staff to critical positions to accomplish our order processing operations. Effective Monday March 16, 2020, we began operating with four dedicated shipping and receiving personnel in addition to one Customer Service and Operations Lead person on site. All other operations providing Food Safety and Compliance, Customer Service, Customer Sales, Technical Support, Purchasing, and Marketing are being fulfilled by the respective employees working remotely from home.

The intent of this statement is to address inquiries about our ingredients and processes of concern regarding COVID-19 and our supply chain:  

In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, Dairy Connection Inc (DCI) has contacted all our vendors about the ingredients that we source. Most importantly, they have assured us that there is no foodborne risk of handling their products. Most have provided us with a statement updating us on the action they are taking as the global concern evolves regarding employee health and safety. 

DCI has taken appropriate actions in educating our employees about personal hygiene and prevention of spreading viruses. 

The COVID-19 crisis is an evolving issue and we continue to assess and adjust actions and plans as the situation develops. To ensure business continuity, we continue to assess the availability of materials. We will be actively working with each of our vendors to manage our safety stock of both finished goods and evaluation of raw materials. Your DCI account team will be in contact with you should we anticipate a disruption in fulfilling your orders. Please be aware that with a continuation of this global concern, product allocations and shortages could occur from Dairy Connection Inc. and our vendors.
